  1. I have the right to be told that my mother and my father will always love me.
  2. I have the right to be told that my parents’ decision to live apart is not my fault.
  3. I have the right to be seen as a human being, not a piece of property to be fought for or bargained over.
  4. I have the right to have decisions about me based on what is in my best interest and not on my parents’ hurt
    feelings or needs.
  5. I have the right to love both my father and my mother without being forced to choose or feeling guilty.
  6. I have the right to know both my mother and my father through regular and frequent involvement in my life.
  7. I have the right to have the financial support of both my mother and my father.
  8. I have the right to be spared from hearing hurtful or negative comments about either of my parents.
  9. I have the right to be a child and not be asked to lie, spy, or send messages between my parents.
  10. I have the right to be allowed to have affection for new people who come into my life without feeling guilty or being pressured.
